PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience
Ever wondered what it’s like to scuba dive and breathe underwater? If you want to find out but aren’t quite ready to learn to dive and take the plunge into a certification then Discover Scuba Diving is perfect for you. In just one day the Discover Scuba Diving experience teaches you how to use scuba equipment in shallow water and gives you a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. At New Way Diving in Koh Tao, we have a great selection of shallow divesites perfect for this experience. To get an idea check out Mango bay, Japanese Gardens and Aow Leuk. Course Structure
-
10.30 : Meet at New Way Diving. Introduce you to your scuba equipment and teach you some basic dive theory.
-
12.00 : On our boat, go to a shallow bay around the island and learn some basic skills before going on a dive to a maximum of 12 meters. If you enjoy it, you also have the option to do a second dive. To see where you will dive and what you will see check out our divesites and fish ID gallery.
What You Learn You learn the basics you need to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional. One thing you’ll learn is that you really can breathe underwater and whether you like doing that or not. You will:
-
Learn what wearing scuba equipment feels like and how easy it is to move around underwater while wearing it
-
Find out what it’s like to breathe underwater and learn whether you can be comfortable there
-
Learn some basic skills and safety rules that will carry over to your PADI Scuba Diver or PADI Open Water Diver course when you take the next step
To take PADI Discover Scuba Diving, you must be at least 10 years old.
The Fun Part There is nothing like breathing underwater for the very first time. It takes a little getting used to –after all, human beings weren’t designed to do that – but after a few minutes, most participants realize how easy scuba diving really is. The biggest challenge we have with the Discover Scuba Diving program is not getting participants into the water, but getting them out when the program is over. The fun part? It’s all fun!
-
Plus, you can get credit! Your Discover Scuba Diving program includes an actual scuba dive in open water, which may count toward the PADI Scuba Diver or PADI Open Water Diver certification, putting you a step ahead when you decide to go for it.
